When I thought about what I wanted the most from my bedroom one word resonated over and over- elegance. To me, the very essence of elegance is the intangible feeling of grace and sophistication. I wanted to make sure there was a good dose of coziness mixed into the space as well, since to me, a space without a feeling of nurturing warmth hardly deserves a moment’s notice.
There are several ways to add a feeling of elegance and I find that Velvet curtains, a silky soft rug, and a grand lighting scheme go a very long way in infusing a space with that rich, deep feeling of sophistication (even when you are working on a budget!). A warm paint color adds a cozy layer (this is Natural Cream by Benjamin Moore!)
One of my absolute favorite additions this year has been the faux hydrangeas. Their delicate beauty brings a touch of romanticism that brings cheerfulness to my heart every time I step into the room. I love how the bubble vase is a juxtaposition of styles and brings balance to the nightstand!
I’ve been burning my Feu de Bois Candle, an herbarium of trees, which adds a woodsy, hearth scent that warms the room both with flickering light and scent.
This year I want to infuse more of ‘us’ into our living spaces, so I am bringing in some family photos. For the bedroom, a gorgeous silver frame now holds cherished memories, adding an element of elegance and sentimental value.
Especially during the chilly Winter months, infusing elegance and coziness and even a dose of cherished possessions, can warm the season and our spaces. It’s also about finding comfort and beauty within our own homes, snuggling under the blankets and dimming the lights and feeling a sense of serenity.
